Lip blush is what clients ask for after they have had lip filler and want their lips to look full without makeup. It is also the PMU service most likely to heal weird if the artist does not understand color neutralization. A pale-pink pigment on cool-toned natural lips heals gray. A warm coral pigment on warm-toned lips heals orange. This 3-day course at MUA Salon teaches you to predict healed results before you start.
Burcin Goksu has been doing lip blush at her Los Angeles studios for over a decade. Day 1 is color theory on swatches and on practice lips. Day 2 is technique on silicone — saturation, two-pass method, and the borders. Day 3 is a live model — your own client or one we provide for $250 extra. Burcin watches every stroke and corrects in real time.
Students come from across LA — Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Pasadena, Studio City — and we accept artists from out of state too. The course assumes you already know how to run a sterile PMU setup; if you do not yet, take our microblading or nano brows course first. Plan for 8-12 supervised lip cases before you charge retail.
What you will learn
- Lip anatomy, vermilion border, and where pigment migrates over 18 months
- Color theory: neutralizing cool/blue natural lips, warming up pale lips
- Numbing protocol that actually works on the lip (most don't)
- Two-pass technique for even saturation without overworking the skin
- Live-model procedure on day 3, supervised end-to-end
- Aftercare, cold sore prevention, and the 6-week touch-up
Prerequisites
- Existing PMU experience (microblading, nano brows, or eyeliner certificate)
- LA County body art practitioner permit
- Bloodborne pathogens certification current within 1 year
- Bring one model, day 3
