Policies & Terms
MUA Salon's full policy and terms document — covering cancellation, deposits, permanent makeup, refunds, products, and the terms of service for our 8336 West 3rd Street studio in Los Angeles. Last updated May 1, 2026.
Last updated: May 1, 2026.
Cancellation Policy
We require at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or reschedule. Late cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment, or no-shows where the guest does not arrive, are billed at 50% of the booked service price. The fee is charged to the card on file or invoiced and must be paid before any future booking.
We understand that things come up. If you have an emergency, contact us as soon as possible at (323) 775-3637 or hello@muasalon.com — we will work with you in good faith.
Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in our requiring full prepayment for any future booking. Bridal and permanent makeup deposits are governed by the additional terms in sections 04 and 05 below.
Non-Refund Policy
All service fees are non-refundable. We are an artistry-based business and charge for time, talent, and material. Refunds on completed services are not offered.
However, if you are not completely satisfied with the result of a service, contact us within 7 days of your appointment and we will bring you back for a complimentary correction with the same artist or a different one of your choice. Our goal is for every guest to leave the chair feeling great about the work.
Retail products are subject to the separate refund terms in section 06.
Service Policy
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your appointment. Late arrivals may result in a shortened service window or — if the late arrival affects the next guest — a need to reschedule. The service fee is still owed for any work that was completed.
Children are welcome in the studio under direct adult supervision. For safety reasons, only the guest receiving the service may be in the chair area.
Pricing on every menu item is a starting point. Final cost depends on hair length, density, condition, and the complexity of the look. We always confirm the quote before we begin. See current pricing on the service menu.
We reserve the right to decline service for any reason including, but not limited to, unsafe behavior toward our staff or other guests, untreated contagious conditions in the treatment area, or contraindications to a procedure.
Deposits
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the following appointments: permanent makeup, bridal, and longer color services (full bleach, hair extensions, and any service over 3 hours). The deposit is applied to your final bill on the day of service.
Deposit amounts vary by service:
- Microblading or eyeliner pigmentation: $150
- Nano brows or lip blush: $250
- BLD Signature Trio: $500
- Scalp micropigmentation: $500
- Bridal (in-salon or on-location): 50% of total quote
- Longer color or extensions: $200
Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred once to a new date if rescheduled with at least 72 hours' notice. Subsequent reschedules require a fresh deposit.
Permanent Makeup
Permanent makeup at MUA Salon is performed only after a full consultation, color match, and shape map. A health-screening questionnaire is reviewed at every appointment.
We do not perform permanent makeup on guests who are pregnant or breastfeeding, on blood thinners, recovering from chemotherapy, with active skin conditions in the treatment area, with diabetes that is not well controlled, with keloid scarring tendencies, or who have taken Accutane within the last 12 months.
The 6–8 week perfecting touch-up is included in your initial price and must be completed within 12 weeks of the original appointment. Touch-ups beyond that point are billed at our standard color-boost rate.
Permanent makeup pigment is a semi-permanent deposit into the upper skin layer. Final result varies with skin type, sun exposure, skincare routine, and adherence to aftercare. We do not guarantee a specific longevity. See the full permanent makeup page for healing timelines and aftercare.
Products
Retail products may be returned, unopened and in original packaging, within 14 days of purchase for store credit. We do not refund retail purchases to the original payment method.
Opened products may be returned only if defective. If a product caused a skin reaction, contact us within 14 days with photographs and we will exchange the item or issue store credit.
Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. See the gift cards page for full terms.

Who we are
MUA Salon ("we", "us", "our") operates muasalon.com and provides beauty, permanent makeup, hair, lashes, nails, and barber services from 8336 W 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90048. Contact: hello@muasalon.com.
Information we collect
- Identity & contact data — name, email, phone number, mailing address, date of birth. Provided when you book, buy a product, fill out a lead form, message us on Instagram/Facebook, or subscribe to updates.
- Booking & service data — the service you requested, appointment time, stylist, notes, and history of past visits.
- Payment data — payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processors (Square and Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
- Health screening — for permanent makeup, lash extensions, and certain treatments we collect medical intake information required for safe delivery of the service (allergies, medications, pregnancy status, etc.).
- Website & app usage — pages viewed, referrer, IP address, device type, and interactions tracked via cookies and pixels (Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel). This helps us understand how the site is used and measure ad performance.
- Messaging content — the content of messages you send us via Instagram Direct, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, SMS, email, or web chat.
How we use your information
- To confirm and deliver your appointment.
- To send you booking confirmations, reminders, and receipts.
- To reply to inquiries you initiate via any channel (Instagram DM, Messenger, WhatsApp, SMS, email, phone, web chat).
- To provide safe, informed service (health-screening data is used only for that service and is not shared for marketing).
- To process payments and comply with tax and accounting rules.
- To improve our website, book more efficiently, and personalise the offers you see.
- To measure the performance of our marketing campaigns and, with your consent where required, to serve you relevant ads on Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and Google properties.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run the business — payment processors (Square, Stripe), email & SMS providers, calendar and booking tools, hosting (Hostinger), analytics (Google), and advertising platforms (Meta). Each of these acts as a data processor under contract.
- Advertising partners — Meta (Facebook & Instagram) and Google may receive aggregated conversion data via their pixels for measurement. You can opt out of tracking in your browser or device privacy settings.
- Legal authorities — when we're required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our clients and staff.
How long we keep your data
Appointment records: 7 years (tax + insurance). Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe. Health-screening intake: 7 years (California cosmetic tattoo record-keeping). Messaging threads: 3 years. Website analytics: 26 months (Google Analytics default).
Your rights
Depending on where you live (California CCPA/CPRA, EU/UK GDPR, or elsewhere), you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that's inaccurate.
- Delete your personal information — see the Data Deletion section below.
- Opt out of marketing emails, SMS, or ad targeting at any time.
- Withdraw consent for any processing that relies on it.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@muasalon.com from the email on your file. We respond within 30 days.
Cookies & tracking
Our website uses first-party cookies to remember your cart and log-in state, and third-party pixels from Google Analytics and Meta to measure ad performance. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — some features (like the shop) won't work without them.
Children
Our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.
International transfers
Some of our service providers (e.g., Meta, Google) may process data outside of California. Those providers commit to appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent).
