Inclusivity
Gender-neutral menu and pronoun-aware service. Every age, every hair type, every skin tone, every budget — at the chair, all the same care.
MUA Salon is a full-service beauty studio at 8336 West 3rd Street in Los Angeles, in the Beverly Grove neighborhood between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. We opened with a single idea: a salon should feel like an atelier, run by specialists, where every client — regardless of gender, age, hair type, or schedule — walks out feeling more themselves.
We chose 8336 West 3rd Street on purpose. The block has the shape of LA we love best — boutiques and cafés and quiet luxury, walking distance to The Grove, the Beverly Center, and Cedars-Sinai, and yet still neighborly enough that you wave to the dry cleaner on the way in. It's where Beverly Hills meets West Hollywood, and where a salon can serve both the wedding-Saturday client and the after-yoga walk-in without skipping a beat.
From day one, MUA was built around a simple production model: every chair is run by a specialist, not a generalist. Color is painted by a colorist; cuts are tailored by a stylist; permanent makeup is performed by a trained PMU artist; bridal is staffed by a team that books mostly weddings. That structure is the difference between a salon that works for you and a salon that works on you.
MUA was founded on the belief that beauty is a form of self-expression, not a checklist. We are explicitly inclusive and gender-neutral by design. Men's cuts and barber service share the menu with bridal hair and microblading. Pronouns are asked, not assumed. We've worked with clients in their teens and clients in their seventies, with every hair texture, and across every skin tone.
That ethos shapes how we run the room: the pricing reflects the complexity of the work, not the gender of the guest. The chairs are warm, the music is calibrated, the conversation is yours to lead. You can chat or read or close your eyes. Every visit is your visit.
We treat every appointment like a small piece of artistry — that's the sentence we keep on the wall.
MUA Salon is a clean-beauty studio. Our color, smoothing, and aftercare products lean organic and ammonia-free where chemistry allows; lash adhesive is medical-grade and low-fume; shampoo and conditioner are sulfate-free; nail polish is non-toxic; every product on our shelf is cruelty-free. We do not compromise on performance — every product is professionally tested before it earns shelf space — and we are transparent about ingredients on request.
The clean-beauty commitment also shapes the room itself: ventilated PMU stations, HEPA filtration on the salon floor, single-use disposables for every PMU client, and a sterilization protocol that meets California cosmetology guidelines.
We sit on the West 3rd Street corridor in Beverly Grove — a few minutes walk from The Grove and Beverly Center, and a short drive from Cedars-Sinai, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. The block is dense with the LA you picture when you picture LA: independent boutiques, neighborhood cafés, walkable mornings, golden afternoons.
Most clients find us by walking past the door, by Instagram, or by Yelp. For directions, parking, and transit options, see the contact page.
Our team is a small, hand-picked group of stylists, colorists, PMU artists, bridal specialists, and lash technicians. We hire for craft and temperament in equal measure — every artist who joins MUA has been working in their specialty for years and was referred to us by someone we already trust.
Burcin "Bugo" Goksu, our master stylist, brings 25+ years of international experience in permanent makeup, hair, and editorial work — internationally recognized microblading expert and founder of Bugo Beauty. See full profile → The full bench rotates by
category, and we'll match you to the artist whose specialty fits your visit.
We keep names private here on purpose: the chair is the brand, not
any one face.
The team trains continuously through our in-house MUA Academy, which is also open to outside students looking to break into permanent makeup or bridal/editorial work.
MUA started as one studio. It's growing into a brand with three pillars: the flagship salon, the academy that trains our chairs and outside students, and a small franchise program bringing the MUA chair to other markets. We move slowly on growth — one partnership at a time — because the room is the brand, and the room only works when the people in it are right.
Always make room for a little beauty in your life. That's the line we put on the door, and the line we still live by.
