Studio Makeup
Editorial, film, TV, and red-carpet appointments — Hollywood-grade work.
Studio Makeup →Professional makeup at MUA Salon spans two appointment tiers — a polished, natural Day Makeup at $200 in 1 hour, and a fuller Evening / Glam Makeup at $250 in 1.5 hours. Both run at our Beverly Grove studio at 8336 West 3rd Street. For editorial, film, and red-carpet work, see Studio Makeup. For wedding-day artistry with trials and on-location options, see the Bridal page.
The two appointments solve different problems. Day Makeup is for daytime events, work portraits, brunch weddings, baby showers, and birthdays held before dark — moments where you want to look polished without looking made up. Evening / Glam Makeup is for cocktail and gala events, dinner parties, evening weddings, milestone birthdays, and any night where you want to read camera-ready under indoor lighting.
For the full studio menu, see all services. For editorial, film, and red carpet, see Studio Makeup. For wedding-day makeup, see the Bridal program.
Day Makeup is a one-hour appointment built around the way your skin actually reads in daylight. The kit skews skin-first — luminous primer, a thin layer of color-matched complexion, targeted concealer where you need it, soft contour, a flush, neutral lash detail, brow finish, and a balanced lip.
Day Makeup is the right pick for graduations, corporate headshots, office holiday parties, daytime weddings, and any event where you want to be told you look great without anyone realizing they are looking at makeup.
Evening / Glam Makeup is a 1.5-hour appointment built for indoor and event lighting. Skin reads luminous but cleaner, eye work is fuller, the contour is more defined, and the kit is photo-tested. It is the version of you that holds up to camera flash, golden-hour photos, and a long night out.
Evening / Glam Makeup is the right pick for cocktail weddings, charity galas, dinner parties, milestone birthdays, premieres, and any night you plan to be photographed under indoor lighting.
Day Makeup holds 8 to 10 hours under normal conditions with a single touch-up at the lip. Evening / Glam Makeup is set to last 10 to 12 hours under event lighting and is finished with a long-wear setting spray that holds through dinner, dancing, and photography.
Conditions matter. A hot outdoor wedding shortens any makeup's lifespan; a climate-controlled gala extends it. Bring a small touch-up kit — pressed powder for shine, your lipstick, and a micellar wipe for the lash band — and you will hold from arrival through after-party.
Both services are photo-tested in studio. The complexion layer is built without reflective particles that flash back under camera, the contour is mapped with shadows that read on a 2D image, and the eye work is finished with mattes around the lash root so the eye stays defined in flash photography. If your event has a step-and-repeat wall, professional photographers, or a heavy social media moment, ask for the camera-ready finish at the start of your appointment — we adjust the contour and lash density accordingly.
Studio-grade photographic makeup for editorial spreads, film, TV, and red-carpet appointments belongs on the Studio Makeup page, with longer appointment times and a different kit.
Strip-lash add-on is included in Day Makeup as optional and standard in Evening / Glam Makeup. Custom add-ons (overline lip, graphic eye, airbrush) are quoted at booking. Cancellation, deposit, and re-do rules live on the policies page.
