Daytime makeup is harder than it looks because clients have no patience for anything that looks like makeup. The goal is skin that looks like skin, eyes that look open, and color that reads natural in daylight. This 2-day workshop at MUA Salon's 8336 W 3rd Street studio teaches you the technique that has built Burcin Goksu's bridal and headshot business for 25+ years.

Day 1 is theory and practice on each other — skin prep, foundation matching, color correction, eye and lip. Day 2 is models. Each student does two full faces while Burcin walks the room and corrects. By the end of the weekend you will have four portfolio photos in your phone and the skill to do a daytime face in 45 minutes.

The course is open to beginners — no license required. Students travel in from Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Pasadena, and Sherman Oaks, and most graduates use the certificate to start a freelance bridal trial business inside their first month. We are honest that two days is a workshop, not a full education. If you want to do this as your full-time career, plan to assist a working artist for 6-12 months after the workshop.

What you will learn

  • Skin prep: how to choose primer for oily, dry, mature, and reactive skin
  • Foundation matching in natural light — the test every artist gets wrong
  • Color correction without cakiness (peach for blue, lavender for yellow)
  • Eye look in 6 strokes — neutral palette, soft liner, mascara
  • Cheek and lip color theory matched to undertone, not trend
  • Speed: 45 minutes from clean face to ready-to-photograph
  • How to price, package, and book day-makeup appointments in LA
