What lash extensions are
Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic or silk lashes adhered to each of your natural lashes with a medical-grade cyanoacrylate adhesive. Each extension is isolated, sized to the natural lash it sits on, and dropped into place. The result is added length, curl, or density — without mascara, without strip lashes, and without daily upkeep beyond a gentle morning brush.
At MUA Salon, every lash appointment begins with a short consultation about eye shape, lash density, lifestyle, and the look you want, then a custom map drawn directly onto a lash pad. How to choose
Choosing the right tier
The honest version: there is no universally best lash tier. There is only the tier that fits your eye shape, your natural lash density, and the amount of upkeep you want.
Eye shape
Almond and round eyes carry every tier. Hooded and downturned eyes often look most lifted with a hybrid or volume map that places longer lengths off-center toward the outer third — never in the inner corner, which closes the eye. Monolid and upturned eyes typically suit a more even map with consistent length across the lash line. Your artist will sketch the map on the lash pad before adhesive ever opens.
Natural lash density
If your natural lashes are dense, classic gives clean, mascara-like results without looking heavy. If your natural lashes are average, hybrid is the most forgiving choice. If your natural lashes are sparse or very fine, volume fans cover gaps and create a continuous, dark lash line that classic cannot reach.
Lifestyle
If you swim, sweat, sauna, or rub your eyes daily, retention is harder in any tier — but volume tends to read better between fills because the fan structure leaves a fuller look as individual extensions shed. If you want a low-effort everyday lash, classic or hybrid is enough.
The appointment
What application day looks like
- Arrival & consultation (10 min). Confirm tier, length, and curl. Your artist sketches a placement map on the lash pad.
- Cleanse & prep (10 min). Lashes are cleansed, primer-treated, and gently combed. Lower lashes are taped or padded so they cannot bond to the upper lashes.
- Application (60 min). Each natural lash is isolated and a sized extension or hand-made fan is dropped onto it. We work in alternating rows across both eyes for symmetry.
- Check & cure (5–10 min). A nano mister gently cures the adhesive. The artist runs through the lash line one final time to catch stragglers.
- Brush-out & aftercare (5 min). A brief brush-out, a mirror moment, and a quick aftercare reminder before you leave the chair.
Plan for 1.5 hours start to finish across all three tiers. Come with clean lashes — no mascara, no eye makeup, no oil-based moisturizer anywhere near the eye area. تماسs must be removed at the door.

Retention, fills, and how often to come back
A full set of lash extensions stays full for about 2 to 3 weeks, then gradually thins as natural lashes finish their growth cycle and shed. Most clients book a fill every 2 to 3 weeks; the longest you should go between fills is 3 to 4 weeks before you cross از a "fill" into a full re-set. After 4 to 6 weeks, retention has usually dropped enough that we recommend a fresh full set instead of a fill.
Retention is a personal variable. People who sleep on their face, work out daily, live in dry climates, or take a lot of steam typically need fills closer to the 2-week mark. People who sleep on their back, avoid oils, and brush daily often stretch fills to the 3-week mark comfortably.

Daily lash care
Do
- Cleanse the lash line every night with a foaming, lash-safe wash.
- Brush gently with a clean spoolie morning and night, از base to tip.
- Use only water-based makeup and removers anywhere near the eye.
- Sleep on your back or on a silk pillowcase to reduce friction.
- Schedule a fill every 2 to 3 weeks to maintain a full look.
Don't
- Don't oil-cleanse, double-cleanse with oil, or use any oil-based serum or balm near the lash line.
- Don't rub your eyes — pat dry, never swipe.
- Don't pull on extensions or peel them off.
- Don't sleep face-down on a cotton pillowcase.
- Don't get the lashes wet for the first 4 hours after application.

Allergy & sensitivity
Allergy considerations
True allergic reactions to lash adhesive are uncommon but real, and they almost always involve cyanoacrylate, the active component in every professional lash adhesive. Mild irritation in the first 24 hours (slight redness, watery eyes, mild itch) is more common and usually resolves on its own; a true allergy presents as swelling, persistent itch, or burning that builds over days, not minutes.
Tell us at booking if you have very sensitive eyes, a history of contact dermatitis, or have ever reacted to acrylic nails or cyanoacrylate before. We can run a 24-hour patch test before your appointment, switch to a low-fume sensitive adhesive, or recommend a lash lift instead. If you develop swelling or persistent burning after application, contact us and your physician — we will remove the extensions free of charge.
Removal
Professional removal only
Lash adhesive is engineered to bond, and the only safe way to release it is with a gel or cream remover and trained hands. Pulling extensions off at home — even gently، در shower, even one at a time — almost always pulls natural lashes with them. We see the damage every week.
Removal at MUA Salon is a 30-minute appointment booked separately. You will not need it. If you want extra definition for an event, use only a water-based, extension-safe mascara on the tips. Avoid waterproof formulas.

What about allergies?
