Master the Art of Modern Permanent Makeup
The PMU Artistry Pro Certification is a three-day intensive permanent makeup training designed for students who want to learn the craft of natural, long-lasting cosmetic enhancement. Held at our beauty studio in West Hollywood, this comprehensive program blends deep theoretical knowledge with technical hands-on practice, guiding students through every stage of PMU application — from skin anatomy and pigment science to brow mapping, stroke formation, shading, and machine mastery.
This training is ideal for beauty professionals looking to expand their service offerings, as well as individuals entering the PMU field for the first time. Students receive clear, step-by-step instruction that focuses on precision, symmetry, healed results, and artistry. By the end of the course, participants understand how to create soft, natural brows using nano strokes, powder shading, or combination techniques. The program also emphasizes client communication, safety standards, aftercare, and business fundamentals, giving students the confidence to perform PMU services professionally.

Course Program
Day 1 — Skin Anatomy, Pigment Theory & Brow Mapping
The first day builds a strong foundation by focusing on the scientific and artistic fundamentals of PMU. Students begin by learning skin layers, depth control, undertones, pigment retention, color correction, and safe sanitation practices. We then move to brow mapping, where students study symmetry, proportion, and the geometry of natural-looking brows. The day concludes with machine handling exercises on latex skins.
Covered on Day 1:
Machine control techniques practiced on latex
Skin structure, healing cycles, and retention factors
Pigment selection, correction theory, and undertone matching
Hygiene, sterilization, and client safety protocols
Brow mapping for symmetry and personalized design
Day 2 — Stroke Technique, Shading Methods & Demonstration
On the second day, students shift from theory into technique development. We focus on nano stroke patterns, microblading-inspired digital techniques, powder shading, ombré effects, and combination brow styles. Through instructor demonstrations and repeated hands-on practice, students learn how pressure, speed, and needle configuration affect healed results. We also cover when to choose each technique based on different skin types.
Areas of focus:
Instructor demonstration with detailed explanations
Stroke formation, spacing, and pattern flow
Powder and ombré shading fundamentals
Designing brows according to facial structure
Understanding healed outcomes vs. fresh results
DAY 3 — Live Model Work, Application Workflow & Professional Development
The final day centers on performing a complete PMU service on a live model, under full supervision. Students apply all skills learned — mapping, outline work, shading, stroke correction, and finishing techniques — while learning how to maintain workflow, manage client expectations, and ensure comfort throughout the process. The training ends with business insights covering pricing, client photography, social media, and building a PMU portfolio.
End-of-day outcomes:
Full PMU application on a live model
Healed result expectations + aftercare protocol
Client communication and consent processes
How to build a PMU business and professional identity
Certification & Takeaways
Graduates receive the PMU Artistry Pro Certification from MUA , along with personalized evaluations, a professional practice guide, and technique notes. By the end of the program, students leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to begin working as PMU artists.
